Having worked for three different translation agencies (1 in London and 2 in Denmark) after graduating, I became a freelance translator in 1986 and have been translating full-time ever since.
Now authorized as a qualified member of ITI, I deliver certified translations into English for use by courts, ministries, embassies and lawyers to name a few. Click here for my listing with the ITI and for further detail please refer to authorization/certification.
In addition, I work for the Institute of Linguists (IoL) Language Services Ltd as a registered setter, assessor (marker) and moderator of examination pieces for admission to the IoL, in the language combination Danish-English, primarily in the legal/financial/scientific field. Furthermore, I am also on London's Danish Embassy approved list of translators.
I have also translated a number of books, including a textbook on Psoriasis by a French doctor, a photographic book on the nature and wildlife of the Arctic by a Latvian/Danish author and explorer, an opera by a contemporary Danish composer, a book on male sexuality by a Danish sociologist and various illustrated works by a living Danish painter; as well as over 20 full-length reports for the Danish Council of Ethics on such wide-ranging topics as cloning, abortion, genetic engineering, euthanasia and fetal diagnostics.
My portfolio includes a number of large public agencies and ministries in Denmark, a large Australian mining company, the UK police service and several dozen top-calibre translation agencies throughout the world, with a primary focus on the Scandinavian countries and the UK. |
